Meet the Person behind
Cat Breeds Junction

Cat Breeds Junction is a website created for the purpose of supplying information to cat lovers, cat owners and hopefully a site that will entice new cat owners to the wonderful world of different cat breeds. Initially the site will focus on domestic cats but in time I hope to explore their ancestors too.

By way of introduction, my name is Lyn, the proud webmaster of www.catbreedsjunction.com. Animals have always played an important role in my life. As a child I was surrounded by a wide array of different animals from guinea pigs and white mice, Shetland ponies and dogs, tortoises and sheep and of course, many adorable and beautiful cats.

My gratitude to my parents who taught me to love and respect animals and for the privilege of spending time in the African bush to experience, first-hand, the wild cats of Africa.

As a young girl I'd dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, but sadly it was not to be! During school vacations I would spend time with my mother who worked for several animal welfare organizations and whilst disheartening, it was also very rewarding.

I qualified as a Professional Nurse in the 1980's and the natural progression from there was the Pharmaceutical Industry where I held senior positions in the sales and marketing departments for almost 15 years.

Over the past 10 years I have held executive positions in the Advertising and Media Industries - but my goal of owning my own business and pursuing my dream of 'doing something' for animals has always been top-of-mind.

My daughter is a budding environmentalist and her love of animals and her surroundings inspires me every day.

A dear friend of mine recently exposed me to an idea that would allow me to pursue my love of animals and in particular, all breeds of cat. Thank you Antoinette.

Cat Breeds Junction is a project in it's infancy. I have no doubt that with the contributions from cat breeders, animal photographers and my passion and drive for this subject - cat breeds - that this will become a 'hobby-business', where content will always be my primary objective.
